Opening Night

Thursday 13th January 6 PM to 8 PM

On the opening night of the re:collections exhibition there will be a sneak preview of all the newly created and commissioned work undertaken.

Wine and refreshments will be served, and there will be the opportunity to meet the artists, writers, and museum curators involved in this collaborative exhibition.

To coincide with the opening of the exhibition writers Susan Wicks and Catherine Smith will be reading a selection of their poetry from re:collections on BBC Radio 3's "The Verb" on Friday 14th January at 9.15 p.m.

Meet the Artists and Writers

Sunday 16th January 2 PM to 4 PM

On Sunday 16th January we are holding a 'Meet the Artist' event from 2 PM to 4 PM. All eight artists and writers will be talking about their work and the process of creating the re:collections exhibition. This informal event is free and open to everyone. On the day, there will be a chance to see the show and to ask questions of the artists and writers. The group includes award-winning writers, poets and artists, all with a wealth of experience. Visitors to the event will be able to meet artist and printmaker Niki Campbell, writer and poet Catherine Smith, artist and printmaker Lindsay Connors, novelist Sarah Salway, photographer and mixed-media artist Ellen Montelius, poet and children's writer Mara Bergman, artist Lizzy Clayman, and poet and novelist Susan Wicks.

Find out more about this unique exhibition during this free, informal event. Meeting both the artists and writers involved in creating work for this show will provide be an opportunity for you to find out about their inspiration and ask questions about their work.
